What the checker looks for
The checker looks for FSC and PEFC, including forms such as FSC 100%, FSC Mix, FSC Recycled and PEFC certified. It also looks for chain of custody (keten van bewaring) and the abbreviation CoC.
If the text names FSC or PEFC but not chain of custody, the checker says so as a question you can put to the client. It is a question, not a verdict.
The checker does not know whether a supplier is certified and does not look up certificates. You check the certificate yourself with your supplier.

What does the checker do exactly?
It searches the text you paste for FSC, PEFC and chain of custody, and shows every sentence that holds one. It also shows whether the text names a fire class, MPG, MKI, BREEAM or CO2.
Is my specification text sent anywhere?
No. The checker runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is sent to Modou.
Does Modou check that my supplier is FSC or PEFC certified?
No. The checker only shows what the text names. It does not look up certificates or keep them. Check the certificate itself with your supplier.
What if the specification names neither?
Then the text asks for neither. That is itself something to ask the client before you price, for example in your tender queries.
Does Modou calculate MPG, MKI or BREEAM?
No. Modou does not calculate them and prints no score for them. The checker only shows whether the text names them.
Can Modou do more than one pasted text?
Yes. Modou reads a whole tender package: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, IFC2x3, IFC4 and DXF. It lists every requirement with the document and place it came from. Modou is still in development.
