From your tender package to your calculation package

Upload the specification, drawings, schedules and IFC model you were sent. Take the checked quantities out as an Excel, CSV or CUF-XML file and import it into your own calculation package yourself. Modou never connects to your package, so nothing changes in it without you.

Upload

What goes in

You upload the tender package into a project. Modou reads these files:

PDFDOCXSpecifications as PDF or Word (DOCX)
PDFDrawings as PDF, including scanned pages.Modou reads the title blocks, schedules and drawing lists on them.
XLSXCSVDoor, window and room schedules and quantity lists as Excel (XLSX) or CSV
IFCIFC models (IFC2x3 and IFC4).The Quantities tab measures them with your own build-ups from the Systems library.
DXFDXF files, for block counts and polyline lengths and areas

Scanned pages are read with text recognition, and every value read that way waits for you to check it. Native DWG and Revit files are not read, so export them to DXF or IFC first.

Gmail

A tender request can also arrive by mail. Connect your Gmail mailbox and Modou picks up requests that come with attachments it can read, puts them in a new project and starts reading. Picking up requests only reads your mailbox: it never sends mail and never changes anything in it.

Export

What comes out

After your review you export a file and import it into your calculation package yourself.

XLSXCSVAvailable

Excel and CSV

The checked quantities, findings and questions, with the document, revision and page on every row. Quantities from the model come out per line, per build-up or as a material list per build-up, in the columns you choose.

CUF-XML

A file to read into Ibis, Kraan nCalc, Vakware, 2Jours, CIVIEL, Duncan or Bouw7. It never carries margin or mark-ups: you set those in your own package. It is a pilot because an import has not yet been checked by hand in every package.

Where you can ask about a project

Ask in the project chat in your dashboard. Every answer shows its sources, with a link to them in the project. You can ask the same questions in Slack, Telegram or Discord, where Modou names the sources in words, such as the file and the page.

You stay in control

The document check sends nothing outside your company. A question for the architect is only noted, and your quantities leave Modou only as a file you export. You can disconnect your mailbox at any time, and if its access expires, Modou asks you to reconnect instead of quietly carrying on.
